Athlete’s Foot is a common fungal infection that thrives in warm, dark, and moist environments…like a sweaty pair of shoes!
You might have Athlete’s Foot if you experience the following symptoms:
Many people avoid coming to see a podiatrist about Athlete’s Foot as they are embarrassed about their feet. However, it can spread to cause fungal toenail infections, so it’s important to get it treated sooner rather than later.
Treatments vary depending on the severity and whether your skin is moist or dry, as each requires a different approach. We have loads of advice to help and all the right products to get and keep you free of it.
Usually, we will recommend some antifungal medications to help clear the infection, and in more severe cases, we will write to your GP to get a prescription for oral antifungals.
We will also provide advice on footwear choices, antifungal sprays or powders, and how to keep your feet clean and dry to avoid the infection recurring.
All of our podiatrists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and The Royal College of Podiatry, so you can trust that your feet are in safe hands.
We never take a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to your treatment. After an in-depth consultation, we design a personalised plan that gets you comfortably back on your feet as quickly as possible.
Our years of expertise and continuous commitment to training means we have the skills to make your treatment as minimally invasive and effective as possible.

After taking long walks to get back some long overdue fitness, I was suffering from various aches and pains in my feet. Heel spurs. Plantar fascitis. Tenderness in my achilles heel. Painful stiffness in the mornings. This was making my walks uncomfortable and sometimes making me abstain, which then prevented any improvement in my health and fitness. I met with Val who explained the mechanics of my feet and the possible causes of the pain and provided me with a low key temporary pair of adapted insoles to see if the symptoms improved. After a number of months or wearing these for my walks without any of the previous pains, I was encouraged and with the view to eventually returning to general running I returned to Val to discuss more permanent, hard wearing orthotics. I have used orthotics on and off for 25+ years for general wear, exercise and running and they come in various forms and comfort. The process undertaken with Val was quick and simple. The result is a pair of bespoke, very comfortable, pliable in all the right places to get into your shoes, softly cushioned, lightweight, thin and very supportive orthotics. I wear them everyday in my trainers and have not had any pains in my feet. Even on the days I wish to wear shoes where orthotics aren't possible, there is no pain. They have been worth every penny. The service provided by Val and the team at the clinic is friendly and professional and I am very grateful to be able to pursue getting fit and healthy again without pain.![]()

I am getting on in years and have been taking the state of my feet for granted for most of my life. This is no longer the case since I started regular visits to Bearsden Foot Clinic, where I receive a friendly reception from Audrey and am attended to by Aimee McComb who treats my feet so caringly as though they were the most important feet in the world. After my last visit on 17th February I left feeling that I could walk on air. I would highly recommend Bearsden Foot Clinic for expert podiatry services. Many thanks to all the ladies there, Valerie, Audrey and Aimee.![]()

I've always had problems with my toenails due to an inherited condition. I've seen other podiatrists in the past but still had issues. I've now seen Aimee three times at Bearsden Foot Clinic. She's spent so much time getting to know my podiatry needs, listening to me, and as a result I no longer have discomfort. Aimee is so professional and really cares about her job. She's so easy to talk to and always regularly checks with me as she conducts my treatment. She's a breath of fresh air and I'd definitely highly recommend her. Thanks for a great service!![]()

My wife Annie is a regular client of Val's for podiatry. She happened to mention to Val that she was suffering pain in her knee and had been prescribed pain killers. Val suggested trying acupuncture with her at the clinic. After three sessions the swelling of her knee subsided and after another three she was able to stop using pain killers. She has always spoken highly of Val's podiatry skills and is now happy that she has added acupuncture to her treatments at the clinic.![]()

I would highly recommend Bearsden Foot Clinic the staff are all amazing. They are very friendly compassionate and made me feel at ease. I attended due to foot ankle and leg pain. My condition was explained to me very clearly. I have hyper mobile joints so I struggle walking at times. They prescribed me exercises to help me strengthen my muscles at home then I got insoles made. I will use them on the future for any foot related issues.![]()

I called in a bit of a panic last week hoping for a procedure. I explained the situation over the phone to Audrey, who was very understanding and honestly so helpful. Within an hour I had a phone consultation with Aimee and an hour after that I was in having the procedure done. Aimee was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable. Both Audrey and Aimee were absolutely brilliant and are an absolute credit to your clinic. They were both so welcoming and completely put my mind at ease during my visit. Thank you very much to everyone at the clinic.![]()

Val and her team treated my teen daughter's feet over a period of weeks in Summer 2025. She needed a few Swift sessions to deal with painful and unsightly verrucas. Being a teen, she hadn't been keen to have them treated or knew there were different strains - over the counter treatments didn't work. Val took the time to explain and agree a treatment plan. Swift is uncomfortable however treats the issue brilliantly. Location is great with on street parking just off canniesburn toll and near a bus stop. The care and compassion shown needs to be highlighted too - for a young person to be keen to keep returning knowing the treatment was working, was priceless. Brilliant wee practice and were flexible with timings so I could bring my daughter to her sessions.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 84 reviewsVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
